Care products

Aligners are sensitive to temperature and chemical exposure. Violating these rules may lead to deformation and reduced treatment effectiveness.

What to avoid

  • do not expose aligners to high temperatures;
  • do not wash aligners with hot or very warm water;
  • do not leave dental guards near heating appliances or in direct sunlight;
  • do not treat aligners with antiseptic or aggressive solutions;
  • do not use alcohol-based or abrasive cleaning agents.

Wearing mode

To achieve the desired outcome, the aligners must be worn consistently. Insufficient wear time reduces the effectiveness of the treatment.

How long and how to wear them

  • Wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day.
  • Remove them only when eating or cleaning your teeth.
  • Drink only clean water at room temperature whilst wearing the aligners.
  • Consume tea, coffee, juices and other drinks only without the aligners.

Putting on and taking off aligners

Incorrect or sharp movements during removal can damage the aligners. Caution is important at every stage.

How to properly put on and take off

  • put on and take off the aligners carefully, without excessive force;
  • avoid sudden movements;
  • after putting them on, press the aligners firmly against your teeth with your hands;
  • don’t bite the aligners to secure them;
  • use your fingers or the special hook from the kit to remove them.

Removal of aligners

Proper removal technique helps to avoid deformation of the structure and discomfort.

Where to start

  • start from the inner (lingual) side of the last teeth in the arch;
  • remove the aligners slowly;
  • do not pull sharply on the front part.

Adaptation to wearing

When changing aligners, the teeth begin to move, so some discomfort may occur. This is a normal part of the treatment.

What to expect

  • the greatest discomfort may occur on the day of switching to a new pair;
  • the sensations are usually unpleasant but not painful;
  • if there is severe pain, you can take painkillers as advised by your doctor.

Daily cleaning of aligners

Regular and proper cleaning helps to maintain the clarity of the aligners and supports oral hygiene throughout the treatment.

How to properly clean aligners

  • clean aligners daily under running water;
  • use a separate soft toothbrush;
  • do not use hard brushes or abrasive pastes;
  • for deeper cleaning, use special tablets for removable orthodontic appliances (e.g., Korega);
  • after cleaning, rinse the aligners thoroughly with water before putting them on.

Damage or loss of the aligner

Interrupting treatment due to the absence of an aligner can negatively affect the outcome. It is important to act quickly.

What to do

  • to avoid being left without aligners, and as a temporary solution — put on the previous set of aligners straight away;
  • contact your orthodontist as soon as possible.

Duration of wearing one set

Each set of aligners works at a specific stage of tooth movement. Unauthorised changes to the schedule may disrupt the treatment plan.

Basic rules

  • a set is usually worn for 2–3 weeks;
  • the exact duration is determined by the orthodontist;
  • you need to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day.
